Why You Need Sports Betting Tracking Software, Part 2
Recently I have been discussing why it is important to track your bets (see my blog post on Why Track Your Bets? Part 1, and why you may want to consider purchasing software to help you do it. If you haven’t yet, please read Why You Need Sports Betting Tracking Software, Part 1. Once you have, continue on to learn a couple more great reasons to consider making the investment in tracking software.
- You can see where you are at in a glance. The best sports betting tracking programs include centralised dashboards which show how you are doing with your betting. You may even be able to customise the dashboard so it shows the stats you are most interested in. You can also personalise the shortcuts so it is easy to navigate to the other data you want to see. This can be a major time-saver.
- You can look at visual plots of data. You can do this to some extent with Excel, but Excel’s charting capabilities are fairly limited, and setting up graphs on it is a real pain. Your sports betting tracking software can automatically generate plots for you. If you are a visual learner, and tend to comprehend patterns and trends better when you can actually see them, this is incredibly helpful. It is much easier to see whether you are making progress or not when you have bars or a pie graph or a line to look at, rather than just a lot of numbers which can easily blend together.
- The data you see is actionable. Data is useful only when you can actually do something concrete with it. Some statistics are more useful than others, and sports betting tracking programs are designed by statisticians who know exactly which data points will be of the most value to you. Some programs may even be able to make suggestions to you based on the analysis which they run. They can not only show you the results of your betting decisions, but help you to interpret them as well.
Not all sports betting tracking programs are designed equally, so you will want to shop around before you make a purchase. If you are not sure what to look for, be sure to read my next article, What to Look For in Sports Betting Tracking Software.
Keeping track of your wagers, techniques, betting platforms, and types of bets can be a major undertaking, but you do not need to do it all on your own. A simple spreadsheet can offer you a great start if you are a newbie, but once you really start getting serious about betting, it can pay off (literally) to invest in a quality program to help you out. If you act on the data the software generates, you may very well find that it does not take long at all for the software to pay for itself.
