Royal Ascot Windsor enclosure
If you are thinking of attending this year’s Royal Ascot and want to save money on admission, your best option is to head to the Windsor (previously know as the Silver Ring). The Windsor is located right on the straight mile, and will have you right in the thick of the action. When the Royal Procession arrives on day one of the races, guests at the Windsor will be the first to spot the Queen’s landau. From the perspective of the Windsor, you are also the first to see and hear the racing action on the final straight. The Windsor is very much defined by the sound of thundering hooves.
What else can you look forward to if you decide to buy tickets for this enclosure? While the Windsor is the most casual enclose (good if you are not into strict fashion rules - there is no formal dress code for this enclosure, aside from a few forbidden items and a suggestion to wear smart attire), it still offers quite an upscale experience:
- The Windsor boasts a lively atmosphere, complete with live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
- Excellent cuisine. The Silver Ring, like the other two enclosures, has a number of great culinary options. If you enjoy British food, you will love the Artisan Deli, where you can sample the best sausage rolls, cheese, quiches, and more. While you are watching the races in the ring itself, you can also enjoy curries, burgers, fish and chips, and more.
- If you prefer not to eat the food from the deli, you are able to bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy it right on the grounds. Additionally, one bottle of champagne or sparkling wine is allowed. This is a wonderful way to cut your costs and also enjoy a delightful, idyllic time.
- Enjoy the hottest prices around. A full price ticket costs £37.00- £46.00. If you decide to arrive as part of a group, you can get a small discount. Tickets for 49+ people cost even less. Considering that the next bracket up is the Village Admission tickets, which cost £67.00, the Windsor is quite an outstanding deal. The Royal Ascot may be a posh event, but the Windsor enclosure makes it an affordable outing for anyone.
Remember, even if you cannot make it out to the Royal Ascot in person, you can still watch the races as they unfold live and place your wagers online at a horse racing betting site. You can live stream races online or watch them on ITV, and also keep up with updates as they are posted online.
There is nothing quite like being front in centre of the action though, so if you can, consider buying a ticket at the Windsor or one of the other enclosures at the Royal Ascot Royal Enclosure, Queen Anne enclosure or the Village Enclosure).
